War in Iraq still going more dead bodies sent back to the U.S.
The defense secertary announced today that the Pentagon will pay for families to come to Dover for the cermony when troops bodies are delievered back to the U.S.  This announcement comes a month after the Pentagon reversed its longstanding polices on barring media coverage. The decsion regarding the media is not up to each individual family whether they would like to have their loved one get media coverage. There is a sharp divison between military families on whether or not the media should be allowed at the cermony. Half of the families believe that  this moment should be private, while the other half of the families believe that there loved ones should recieve more reconigtion.
I am not sure how I feel about this issue at the moment. After reading that this new policy now somewhat forces the families to show up at the cermony. Also the policy does not hold strong if the family can not immediately get together, the government will not pay if getting the family together will delay the return of the body which bothers me quite a bit. The war has not only effected the U.S. but other countries as well. I get sad thinking about the number of people who have been killed both U.S. troops and those in the other countries over this pointless war.
