Human Rights groups in Egypt are demanding that the assaults on the followers of the minority Bahai religion be investigated. Many people in an Egyptian village gathered to yell that Bahais were the enemy of God. The human right's groups believe that they were provoked by a journalist.
The journalist allegedly said that a influential Bahai was an enemy of God, and that he should be killed. The journalist made these remarks on Egyptian television. The villagers threw firebombs at the homes of the Bahais, and turned off the water supplies so that the fires could not be put out. The police then ordered the Bahais to leave the village.
This all took place in al-Shuraniya, which is about two hundred miles south of Cairo. These assaults lasted for five days, however no one was injured. The police in the village have not allowed the Bahais to return to their homes.
The Bahai religion was founded in Iran in the late ninteenth century, and it promotes peace and unity between all of the major world religions. The believe that all of the main religious leaders, such as Jesus, Muhammad, Budhha, and Moses were prophets sent down by God to carry out his wishes. Bahais have always been heavily persecuted in the Middle East.
I think that the Egyptian government needs to do everything in their power to make sure that Bahais in their country are protected.

I am so sick and tired of people persecuting others because of what they choose to believe. If there is any religion that seems to have the most sense is the Bahai. If everyone agreed with their theory, less people would die from believing differently. Why is it that the most sensible answer is always thrown out the window...
