Greenhouse emissions endanger human health: EPA

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency officially declared that greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to air pollution were a danger to the health and welfare of humans. The impact of such a declaration is the potential for future regulations to be established and enforced in the U.S. Motor vehicles are identified as a main contributor of rising greenhouse emissions such as carbon dioxide. Other carbon dioxide sources, which may come from either natural or man-made sources, include coal-fired power plants and oil refineries. The increase of average temperatures and other climate changes have been well documented and the forecast looks ominous for both present and future generations, if the problems resulting from greenhouse gas emissions are not addressed. Other greenhouses include methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and sulfur hexafluoride.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s official announcement is long overdue, and a great amount of damage to the environment affecting human health has already occurred. A progressive or concerned government with the evidence in front of them should have the insight to forge ahead and do the right thing, and not allow greed, political motivations, or pride to deter appropriate actions. The U.S. has the potential to provide a positive example through the creation of regulations and adherence to environmentally friendly activities. With such policies in place, they could influence other nations who are reluctant to adopt such procedures since other countries aren’t. Clean sustainable energy should be the obvious goal for all countries on this planet but without taking the first steps, change will never happen. Life is the potential outcome of protecting the environment through sustainable practices otherwise we are slowly dooming the planet and all life on it to a final end.

Lung Cancer and Cardiopulmonary disease... Fine particles are the main cause of these sicknesses.. But yeah we need to quit using fossil fuels and i think making a BIG DEAL about how its killing people would make a better impression on the public. Unlike smoking you cant stop this unless you remove those coal plants and the like. Its like a kid who is allergic to pistachios but eats pistachios. If you took the pistachios away he wouldn't get sick all the time. (im allergic to nuts so this is a big deal for me)

It's good news to hear that our government is finally acknowledging what most scientists have been adamantly declaring for years: that human activities, specifically our consumption of fossil fuels, actually has an effect on our environment. This is undeniably a big step forward for our nation as well as the world at large; hopefully other nations will take after the good example we are (at LONG last) projecting. This country's government is FINALLY on the right track.
