So I did a little research on my own and found out exactly what this virus is, how it effects people, how it spreads, and how many people have been infected/died from it.
The Ebola virus is part of the rare five distinct families of RNA viruses. These diseases are cause high fever and bleeding disorders and can all progress into shock and death in extreme cases. Nearly 400 people have fallen ill and @ least 167 people have died from it. Ebola can be transmitted through blood transfer or through bites, both humans and animals can carry the virus. In the early stages of the disease an individual may have severe diarrhea and irregular bleeding.
The latest samples of this disease were found in Kebela which is about a hundred miles from the capital. This article out lines a lot of the health concerns of the disease, saying that there is no cure and that the symptoms often times cannot be helped because of improper medical supplies. The article however does not say how many children it has effected.
I feel like all of my article have been a stretch to find a relation to education but in a way I feel like it is necessary to talk about conditions in foreign impoverished countries that hinder their abilities to produce a good educational system. The US may not have the best education but the standard level of living here is far greater than that of countries such as this one. Africa has many poor nations and the majority do not receive government funding for education, and instead of aiming to get laptops and better books, they just want pencils and old used books.
