President points to progress on economic efforts

President Obama claims that he and his team have made some good progress on getting our economy back together. He states his “3.6 trillion budgets are inseparable from this recovery.” He is receiving a lot of criticism from the Republican Party. They call his plans “irresponsible.” Obama has entered the office at one of the worst times possible; this is the worst global economy in many generations. He did however push a $787 billion stimulus plan, along with many other expensive plans to help turn around the banking system. Obama stated in his speech that people must be patient that it will take time to get us out of this slum we are in. He said that he is confident that his team and he are taking steps in the right direction. Instead of focusing on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, he has decided that it is best to worry about his budget proposal for now. John Boehner who is a minority leader states “Obama’s budget may be the most irresponsible piece of legislation I’ve seen in my legislative career. It’s an irresponsible plan that only makes the crisis we’re in worse.”
In my opinion I don’t think Obama is going to turn the economy around. His plans are way too expensive and that’s definitely not what we need right now. Also it’s hard to believe what he said because when he was running for office he was determined to end the wars, now he said he’s not trying to focus on that issue. I think also that his budget plan might not be such a good idea. A lot of the experts are calling it irresponsible and that really worries me, we cannot afford to get into a deeper hole than we are already in right now.

It seems to me it's far too early to know if the plans will help one way or another. I personally wouldn't have done it the way they have but  not much we can do about that I'm afraid.
