The article was about how the European Union is going to keep sanctions on Zimbabwe intact until their human right's record get s better. The sanctions were imposed because of alleged human rights violations, electoral fraud and political oppression. They were placed in 2002. The sanctions include travel bans and freezing Robert Mugabe's assets, who is the president of Zimbabwe. This is related to trade because with sanctions placed on them, Zimbabwe can't trade with any countries in the European Union.
My reaction to this is that 7 years is a long time for sanctions to be imposed. I'm sure Zimbabwe has made some advances in correcting the human rights violations. The European Union seems to be overbearing and too powerful in some senses.
