When women go to work we usually think that a family will be happier and will be able to live a happier healthier life. Yet, Joanne Sandler talks about when a woman does go back to work, friction arises with in the house hold. The house hold becomes stressed and dysfunctional. Not only does the family of the woman become worse off, but also the working conditions are no better. Women must work in horrible garment and textile factories with miserable working conditions. When women lose their jobs the situation become worse. After a woman looses her job she may be forced to do other types of work for money such as informal labor. Informal labor includes jobs where woman will be exposed to harassment and may even be pushed into trafficking or even sex work. So, women are being harassed at work as well as in their homes. Sandler says that if a man were to lose his job, it would create more irritation, which can later on turn into domestic violence.

I think that the way women are treated at work is terrible. They are in unsanitary work spaces as well as being abused and making little money while doing so. Women are also more likely to be sexually assaulted in their work environment and forced to do things they do not want to do. I do not understand why men would take out aggression on their wives if they were to lose their job. Women are looked down upon in the work place as well as their home life.
