This article is sort of a follow-up to one of my previous current events about sanctions being placed on Zimbabwe by the European Union. In the article the president of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe said that the sanctions placed on his country were unfair. Also the whole article was pretty much about him saying he shouldn't be blamed for Zimbabwe's economic troubles. He self proclaimed himself as an "African hero" in the article. He said he battled "imperialism and attempts of foreign countries to oust him." He also pretty much denied that Zimbabwe was in economic shambles and was placing blame on other countries, not his own. This relates to trade/economy because the sanctions placed on Zimbabwe continue to hurt them economic wise and also their position on the global front is affected, and not many countries will want to trade with them.
My reaction to this article is I think Mugabe should admit up to some of the blame for the state of his country, because he has been the leader since 1980. The sanctions were placed on the country because it failed to meet humanitarian guidelines and he as the president is responsible for that whether he likes it or not.
