Thousands of refugees are stuck in limbo in France. It seems that all of them have fled their dangerous mother countries only to be placed into "The Jungle." It is an insanitary, inhumane, holding place that they refer to as "a place for dogs, not humans." The standards of this refugee camp area seem less than proper and have to be in some violation of human rights as seen by the UN but it seems that there is no regulation in this particular area. They have no real shelter, just plastic tents. There are only three showers for all of the refugees, and only one doctor to treat all of their ills. France seems to be very apathetic to the refugees hiding out in the area. They all wish to go to Britain but cannot make it there. They can't apply for or obtain asylum in France and are stuck with nowhere to go.
This article showed the other side of the refugee spectrum. They are not always welcomed into countries; they can be met with apathy and even hostility from local authorities. It was unclear why these particular refugees aren't being given asylum, but it feels as if it may have something to do with race. They are mostly Iraqi and Afghan refugees forced out of their countries. No matter what anyone says, the entire world still feels at odds when it comes to these countries. France and the UK may be afraid of possible terrorism or may just not want to be involved with these refugees. Even so, it is not right to treat them the way they are being treated. If you are going to reject refugees and keep them in a contained area, that area should at least be heavily regulated so that those refugees can survive in that area without feeling like animals.

If the French and UK governments are treating them poorly because they're afraid of terrorism, why wouldn't the get them visa's out or find some other solution?
