Volunteer militias push back Taliban

.:Summary:.

Our story subject Ziad and hundreds of other Pakistan villagers have gone up in arms and have chosen to help the government fight the Taliban buy starts up militias known as lashkars. These brave people are putting their lives on the line, away from their families, to help push the Taliban out and away from their villages, protecting their values, and helping the government. Some of these groups are as large as 500 people, or more. Also, many of these people are friendly with Americans and admire our democracy.

.:Reaction:.

I think it is a huge step of progress for these people to be doing such a dangerous thing to protect what they believe in. They are helping fight against the Taliban, which is helping people worldwide and is helping work towards world peace. I believe that the militia’s involvement in this struggle is detrimental to defeating the Taliban, which has proven to be a seemingly never-ending process. The fact that they have 16 years olds working in the militias might cause controversy with some but I believe that since it is accepted in their culture that if a 16 year old wants to fight that he should be able to, it is only helping the cause.
