African Swine Fever in Russia

The African Swine Fever is another health issue that is being very hard to control. The carriers of this awful fever is from pigs, warthogs, bush pigs, and American wild pigs. These animals are the ones that most the citizens use to live off of and to make there living. They deal with theses animals all the time and can’t afford to stay away from them neither the less get rid of them. Seeing how the way to catch this African Swine Fever is from direct contact with one of theses sick animals, by feeding around infected meat, and/or wearing clothes that have been around theses animals before. These farmers are having to take precaution on how there pigs look, a couple of signs for them to look for are reddening of the skin, tips of ears, tail, distal extermities, ventral aspects of chest and abdomen, vomiting, diarrhea, death is within 6-13 days, abortion in pregnant sow, any surviving pigs are most likely carriers. There is nothing for these people to do to save them or there pigs with no vaccine to cure it. Agencies are trying to have careful policies for animals and animals products to keep this from spreading to far. Russia is doing a good job in containing this from spreading to far and hopefully it can stay that way.
