In Crete, Greece police arrested a child sex offender fugitive. The 56-year-old man was identified as Stephen Burnell on the run from northern England. He was arrested in the coastal village of Lantas, on a European arrest warrant. In 2007 he was convicted of a few sex offenses including indecent child photos, indecency with a child and attempted rape. He was sentenced to six years for his crimes but fled before his conviction. In August 2007 Burnell was put on the British Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre’s Most Wanted Web site. At this time he is being held in Crete pending extradition.
First of all, that’s gross. I don’t really understand why people get sexual rises out of children. That is horrid and they should be locked up for a lot longer than six years. I am glad they found the guy and I hope that everyone does as much as possible to find all the other sex offenders that are out there. Everyone be careful.

I agree that this is disgusting. I also do not understand how people get excited over doing sexual things with children. However, I have studied it prior to this class and know that some sick people believe that having sexual encounters within children and amazing because children and pure. I think that is horrible and I feel bad for all the children who have to endure that. I used to live behind a sex offender... we moved three months later, but the sad part is, sex offenders are all over the world.
This is one crime that I have simply never understood, never will, and never want to. It should be our instinct to protect children, and I can't wrap my mind around harming them, especially in a way that causes such long lasting harm. I'm glad the man was caught. It's a small victory for all those who have had to endure such horrible acts against them.
i know this man and i strongly believe he is not guilty and i would trust him with my children, its just a huge injustice.
