WTF!? Loggers!

The article I just read is about deforestation in Madagascar. Apparently, there has been extreme stretching of rule in the country. Due to cyclones in the region over the years, many trees have fallen and need to be removed. There was a treaty signed with logging companies to evacuate they precious trees and sell them. After taking all the trees out, these logging companies continued to cut down trees and sell them due to the amount of money these trees could go for. Environmental companies have caught wind of this and are starting to fight back to keep some of Madagascar’s very precious trees alive. They are calling for an immediate ending to the treaty for legal log taking. The ironic thing is that the trees they want are always the last ones to fall in a cyclone.
My reaction to this article is as follows. People have no respect of this earth. They would sell people if it was legal just to make a profit. The fact that these logging companies went behind the rules of the agreement to export trees that have been torn down by nature is the sleaziest thing you could do. They took a good deed that they were doing for the country of Madagascar and turned it into a problem that needs the help of environmental protection agencies to solve. These loggers are taking advantage of the weak and unknowing government. Not only is this a very important ecosystem for the trees but it is also important to the many indigenous creatures that live here.
