Car bomb explodes in North Ossetia.

This article talks about a car bombing in North Ossetia, which is a relatively peaceful area located in the North Caucasus region of Russia, and is mostly inhabited by Orthodox Christians. The bombing killed at least 16 people while injuring many more, the article lists the injured at over 100. This is again a surprise given the area that the bombing took place, it is a peaceful area compared to that of the Muslim areas in Russia. The article also lists that a second device was successfully disarmed at the markets entrance, and that the authorities believe that there could be more devices set to go off.

Reading the article I am again appalled at the evil that is in the world. The article lists the ingredients that the bomber used in making the bomb, these ingredients include: bolts, ball bearings, and other various pieces of shrapnel. This attack was meant to cause as much damage and carnage as possible given the ingredients used in making the bomb. This event has also occurred at the end of Ramadan, which is a Muslim holiday. It is easy to see that this attack is an attempt to cause some sort of backlash against Muslims in the are. But I believe that if the people can step back and see that the attack is simply an attempt to cause more fighting between Christians and Muslims, and that the actors in the attack are a third party that is only seeking to spread hate. That there will be no retaliation of any kind, by not falling in to the trap that the attackers are trying to set, the people win and the terrorists lose. If we can take away our negative reactions to events like these then terrorism will cease to work, and peace will win.
