The recent discovery of the super bug has now spread to other countries. Pakistan and India have seen in incredible increase of the amount of people that are infected. The hospitals in both countries have seen many cases of urinary infections, and lung infections. More people are going to these hospitals, because it is cheaper in those areas, rather than in the western parts of the world. These bugs are continuing to remain resistant to the antibiotics that are given for other infectious bacteria. Carbapenams are the most common antibiotics, and there seems to be no response. They are researching two other antibiotics that can commonly kill the bacteria if Carbapenams cannot kill them.
I appreciate the fact that most of the countries that are infected are working together to create a way to beat the infectious disease. I also think that it is a good idea that less wealthy people are going to the hospitals where it does not cost as much. I worry that this bug with be the next epidemic of the world, and if we do not keep working together, than there will be no end in sight for this super bug. I thought that the article stated the facts very well. It was easy to read, and they displayed the facts in an educational setting. I think more people should be informed on account that it has spread to America. People should be more well informed and preventative towards the infectious bacteria. The superbug needs to be controlled immediately.
