I feel that Melissa Hussain is not following the Wake County's code of conduct. Posting comments on her Facebook page regarding the students and their parents is disrespectful to not only them but also to the school. It is not setting a good example and sets a bad reputation for the school. Those comments were unnecessary and ridiculous. I believe that she should be put on suspension first. If she does not learn her lesson, then the best thing to do is fire her. There is no room for disrespectful and rude teachers who set bad examples for their students. What does this say for all the other teachers? Does it give them the excuse to blog or post things on a social network about how "bad" their students are? It does not. The school systems need to step up their game and stop letting things like this happen in their schools.

Religious Conflict Leads to a Teacher's Suspension
A Wake County middle-school teacher could be fired after she and her friends posted offensive and caustic comments on a Facebook page regarding her students, the south and Christianity. Their comments ranged from "southern rednecks" to saying it was a "hate crime" for a student to leave a bible on her desk and that she was able to "able to shame her kids" for doing it. Although Wake County does not have a policy regarding use of a social network, they do have a code of ethnics that states an employee's conduct should be such as to protect both the person's integrity and/or the person's reputation and that of the school's reputation. Parents said that the situation escalated when a student put a postcard of Jesus on her desk and the teacher, Melissa Hussain, threw it in the trash. The parents also said that Hussain sent some students to the office during a lesson on evolution for asking where God came into creation. There were many more accounts of the teacher making statements on her Facebook page accusing students of calling her names and intentionally giving her Christ related items. The investigation is still ongoing.

I think you have a point. Besides, even if the teacher wanted to talk about how she handles the children in her class, she should at least talk about it somewhere else or if she wanted to post stuff, she can use e-mail instead of a social network where she'd get found out and disciplined. She should've had more sense.
As for what she did in class because of the God question and the Jesus picture, she had no respect for the kids. She could've just waited till the kids went home to throw the picture away, or she could've blessed someone else by giving the picture away. As for the God question, she should have at least answered by saying that he/she should talk about that somewhere else or that evolution doesn't prove or disprove the existence of God.
According to your post, I get that this teacher didn't have everything thought out when dealing with her kids.
What do you think about adding some more pics? I’m not trying to offend anyone, text is really great. Just according to the scientists visitors acquire information much more efficient if there are some useful illustrations.
