Tackling Congo rape seen vital to ending conflict.

This article covers the issue of the raping in Congo. Congo is considered to be the "rape capital of the world". Most men do not accept their wives back after they have been raped. Some of these women even become pregnant after the rape. This issue is continuing to worsen. The conflict of the raping is that it is being used as a tactic of war. Attackers use bottles, stakes, gun barrels, hot pepper, burning wax, etc. as implements of rape. This rape case isn't just for a man's pleasure. They use sex as a weapon because it makes people feel dirty and worthless. A certain case is Felicia, a sixteen year old girl. She was home with her parents when five men broke in, held her down, and raped her. She says she cannot imagine getitng married because who would want to marry a woman who has been raped. As I as analyzing this article, it was on my mind how bad this was. These girls are being molested in ways that they will never be able to forget or move on from. These men have no idea what they are doing to them. The men are attempting to belittle the people, but honestly they are "belittling" themselves because they can't seem to find another tactic to use for war. As for critiquing this article, I thought that i was well written. The only thing that I think the article should include is something positive. The article was intended to be depressing and sympathetic. However, it should have included what and who is trying to stop these rapes from occurring.
