US Drone Attack Kills 17 in Pakistan

There were two attacks from the U.S. drones.  The drone attacks killed seventeen people total, three in which were in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday.  A Pakistan intelligence official informed also said that there were some helicopter attacks from NATO that are raising tensions between the U.S. and Pakistan.  Pakistan is crucial to the war effort in Afghanistan to the U.S. government.  The repeated helicopter attacks from NATO make Pakistan angry, which undermines the efforts to deal with militants because these attacks and the civilian casualties enrage the public.  In response to the NATO helicopter attack, which killed three Pakistani soldiers on Thursday in northwestern Kurram, Pakistan blocked a route in southern Pakistan used by convoys carrying fuel and other supplies for coalition troops in Afghanistan.  Since these convoys were stopped, three dozen fuel trucks were set afire on Friday.  It has been said that the Taliban carried out the attack to seek revenge from the NATO attacks.  It is also said that the Taliban will continue to attack more convoys that are transporting the NATO supplies.
It is obvious that these attacks are doing just as much bad as they are good.  It is a good thing that the attacks are taking care of some of the bad guys, but it seems to be causing a lot of casualties at the same time.  There should definitely be a more diplomatic solution that could possibly cause some of this back and forth killing to decrease; though there probably will not be a diplomatic solution between the U.S. and Middle East for a while.
