Drug Tunnel Found at U.S.- Mexico border

There was an underground drug tunnel found at the United States and Mexico border on Friday. The drug tunnel was said to be about half a mile long, which was directly under the border line. The tunnel which has 30 tons of marijuana among other drugs is believed to have been dug by hand which is why it was not known about. The tunnel was a comfortable working station. Inside there was lighting, ventilation, and a railing system. The issue of drug trafficking and drug trading has been occurring in Mexico for a while. As it is known 30,000 people have died already since 2006 from this problem. Drug dealers have now found a new way to transfer and transmit their products. The tunnel seems to be easier way that is less likely to get caught, until now. As I have focused a lot on the issue of the drug war going on in Mexico, it has become clear that the drug war is closely affecting the United States. This tunnel has made it easy for Mexican drug dealers to have access to the United States, and release their drugs among the country. Most of the trading with this tunnel has been taking place in the states of Arizona and California. The United States already has a drug problem of their own, and with tunnels such as this one coming from Mexico it is not helping ease the situation.

How did these people get away with digging this huge tunnel and not being found out by the authorities? It's frustrating to hear about things like this because we put so much money into the war on drugs every year. Sometimes it seems like it's not making any difference and we should be putting that money towards something else.

I must agree with Corinne. It seems that year after year criminals find new ways of smuggling drugs, selling drugs, or just plain using drugs. I say we stop trying and forward that money to build better schools and promote education. Heck they are trying to legalize weed anyways.
