Suspected U.S. Drone Attack Kills Four

A suspected U.S. drone attack on Wednesday killed at least four Islamist insurgents in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region.  Some local officials said that there were two missiles fired.  The missiles were aimed and fired at a vehicle carrying the militants in Miramnshah, the main town in North Waziristan, killing them on the spot.  An unnamed security official told the media that there was a house in the neighboring Qutub Khel suburb was also extremely damaged from the attack, which turned the vehicle the militants were in into a ball of fire.  North Waziristan is thought to be a strong hold of some of the militants of the Al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Pakistan.  This was the second attack is the last couple of days and last week there were five militants killed in another U.S. suspected drone attack.  Several top ranking Taliban members or militants have been killed in drone attacks after the U.S. turned the notch up on drone attacks in the region.
It is clear that the U.S. is having success in these drone attacks.  There have been man Taliban leaders and such that have been taken out by these attacks.  This situation reminds me of the terrorist group we went over in class, the Tamil Tigers.  Though the terrorist groups are fighting for different reasons and causes, their tactics seem to be similar.  They both use certain tactics like the suicide bombers, for example, to create fear.  Hopefully, like the Tamil Tiger were defeated back then, the Al-Qaeda and Taliban terrorist groups will fall due to the hands of the U.S. military, and all the terrorism from these terrorist groups will come to an end.
