This is from globalissues.org on the subject of trade and economy. After an economic boom, the world's economy has plummeted downwards by extreme means. Most large companies have been bought out by their competition and governments of the wealthiest nations have been forced to elaborate bail-out and rescue packages for some of the large banks and financial institutions. The stock markets have crashed in th epast 3 or 4 as well with 33% drop in the values of companies, which is $14.5 trillion.
Also poverty dwells within more countries than we would expect and is a huge problem in countries all over, in fact the majority of countries are living poverty. Almost half of the world, over 3 billion poeple live on less than $2.50 a day, and nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a bok or sign their names. Less than on percent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year of 200. Chjildren cant do anything about poverty, 640 million live without adequate shelter, 400 million have no access to safe water, 270 million between rich and poor in most nation are increasing more now than ever. Some of the causes of poverty are lack of individual responsibility, bad government policy, exploitation by people and businesses with power and influence, or some combination of these and other factors.
