An article that I read that deals with disease is about a low cholesterol drug called statins. This drug is specifically for patients with any heart complication the prescription of statins are helping that risks of heart problems in the future. It is even noted that people may have few risk of heart complications, who have yet to have any heart event are prescribe to the drug. So researchers wondered, "What about those with low risk of heart complications?" So these researchers along with the Cochrane Systematic Review did 14 trials and the result was little benefit from the statin drug. The analysis that was documented said this study may take years to figure out because if determines the patients health and personal history, especially if trying to shift this drug into a healthy population.

I like how researchers are already thinking into the future and are now taking charge on what could effect the human population in today's time. Yet it made me realize that those who do not show any signs of heart complications in the future should still take caution. The food that we eat, substances that we use and the lack of activity that we do daily can seriously effect our health in the future. The researches studied over 34,000 people but out of all of them, not everyone's health record is exactly the same and 100% health free. So their studies had to be researched some more because they had to take in other considerations. Do I think those who are healthy should take the statin drug to surely stop the possibility of having heart disease? No not yet. As long as people take care of themselves and have regular doctor check ups then things will be alright. I feel no one should take a healthy drug when they aren't in any risk yet. That is what vitamins, healthy dieting and exercising is for.
