-Two Miami-Dade police officers killed in attempted arrest.

The article I read is about two officers that got shot and killed in a gunfight while they were giving out a warrant for an aggressive fugitive in a Miami house Thursday morning. Both officers were wearing bulletproof vests. One officer was a male and the other was a female. The male was a 21-year veteran named Roger Castillo. The female was a 23-year veteran named Amanda Haworth. Johnny Simms, the suspect was shot by one of the four officers there and one of the other suspects was taken into custody. Simms was already wanted for the murder of Cornelious Larry. Simms shot Larry to death because he was cursing and yelling at Simms sister. The investigators said they are not searching for any other suspects. People said the two officers that were killed were heroes of the community, loving family members, friends, and neighbors. I believe the two officers were making their community a safe and better place for everyone. Castillo died at the sight and Haworth died during surgery. She was a single mother raising her 13-year old son. When the bodies were rolled in the stretchers for the two officers were wrapped with an American flag. Officers were lined up in a double line and their hands were covering their hearts. The two officers were incredibly well trained and just because the gunfight the two officers were killed. Other officers were shocked to hear about these officers that were shot in a gunfight. Crime happens everywhere. The topic that I chose to do is Crime. This article was a good example of crime.
