Two days ago, arrests were made in Houston, TX at two of the local bars. Ten individuals associated with the bars were arrested for the trafficking of women for the use of prostitution. Nine of the ten suspects were illegal immigrants from Mexico and Honduras.
Instead of waitressing, as promised, the victims were forced to sit with men and prostitute themselves to the men. Nine women, with the youngest of fourteen, were rescued from the establishment.
Marias Rojas, the bar’s owner, would pay a pimp $2000 for each girl with the promise that they would not escape. She would then charge each girl $4000 to be brought to the United States. After the girls arrive, it is the idea of the human trafficking participants to keep the girls in perpetual debt.
This is a violation of human rights because the women are being physically violated and sexually abused against their will. The individuals of the human trafficking circles lie to the young girls, promising them work and “The American Dream” of a better life. The women have the right to control what happens to their body and they have the right to safe and healthy working conditions wherever they go. Essentially, they have the right to know what will inevitably happen to them when they arrive in the US.
If you know anyone that needs help, you're asked to call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888.

I can only imagine how the women feel because I'm sure they didn't plan on coming to America and starting their life out like this. This article touched me because being a women myself I would hate to have been used in such a matter. Now I wonder, what other women are really being used in this act but are "a waitress" or any other occupation as a disguise. This is definitely against human rights and their justice should be served.
