I'm sure not too many people were aware that Cancer Day is today. Researchers from the American Cancer Society said that cancers from the lungs and breast are more commonly diagnosed in developing countries. Statistics said that in 2008 nearly eight million people died from cancer worldwide. The numbers of death will increase by six million more by the year of 2030 since there will be more people who are living longer lives by then. There are popular cancers that are increasing in certain countries. Like breast cancer is increasing in women worldwide. Colon cancer is common in Europe, Asia and Spain and the cause of this is because of obesity and smoking. Smoking is increasing in countries like African and Asia which causes the rise of lung cancer. Yet, tobacco use if decreasing in the United States which results in the decrease of lung cancer.
I am really interesting in this article because I have many relatives who have been affected by cancer and would like to work in this field of study to help a cure to this disease. If not too many people know, but cancer is a serious disease that can effect anyone emotionally, physically and spiritually just by the habits you do daily and the environment one lives in. Its great to know that cancer is decreasing in the United States, but I'm sure that is because there are a lot of awareness for people to take action in defeating. As of developing countries there may not be the right technology to communicate the awareness or even the right equipment to help minimize the disease. So I was glad to know that experts are taking action now by going to international agencies and governments to start prevention programs. With this I'm sure that increase of deaths in the year 2030 would decrease.
