Insurgents raid Afghan bank; 38 killed

In Kabul, Afghanistan the death toll from an unhappy attack on a bank in eastern Afghanistan rose on Sunday. 38 people were killed, including 13 policemen. Saturday there was an attack as well, which lead 41 people wounded. A lot of attacks are killing and wounding people. There are no well-trained security officers I believe. If there were well-trained security officers there I believe these attacks would not have happened. The attackers stormed a division of the Kabul Bank in Jalalabad, the local capital of Nangarhar. Four of the attackers were killed and the fifth was arrested, Nekzad said. The NATO command in Afghanistan said reports showed that it could have been a suicide attack. It said that three people in fact entered the bank wearing suicide vests and exploded themselves. If they saw three people wearing suicide vests why didn’t anyone call the police? Shouldn’t the bank have cameras that could have captured the people walking in and from the cameras, the bank workers should have called the police. Fighting between insurgents and safety forces lasted more than four hours, said Ahmadzia Abdulzai, a spokesman for the provincial governor. A witness said some civilians were taken as criminals. Afghan President Hamid Karzai destined the attack, which came a day after militants launched two other assaults, killing 14 people in the eastern region of the country. It says in the article that the United States will still carry on to stand with the Afghan partners as they support themselves against terrorism and build a more peaceful future.
