The government wants to cut the funds that the Environmental Protection Agency receives to enforce the Clean Air Act, they want to bring the standards. This week the EPA released a national policy for 84 different poisons they put in the air. A few was mercury, benzene, and hydrogen chloride. All of these toxins are very lethal to the body, causing brain, lung damage, even cancer or death. Dominique browning author and former editor-in chief of house and garden biggest concern is the harm air pollution does to babies. One of the most harmful toxin’s to babies is mercury. It’s a neurotoxin that hurts the fetuses of a woman. Dominique feels that the exposer of this toxin should be lowered for the general public; 400, 000 babies are affected by this toxin a year. Dominique says that the money to stop this is there, power plants now are using it for the new emissions standards. I agree with Dominique but I think the Act will only last a short while. I say that because once the companies start to lose money they are going to want to cut back on how much they spend on stopping pollution to go in the air, which is ridiculous. But in the world we live in, it’s not who you are hurting, it’s how much money you are making. Which is a mind state that we need to change if we want a earth to live on in the future!
