In China the government is cracking down on Google users. They are blocking the free Google Gmail, and they are censoring many of the Google applications. The feud with the Chinese government is making Google think about pulling out of China. This would majorly affect all those who use Google as a search engine in China, as the government is taking the rights of its people away to search the internet for free info. “The developments are the latest signs that significant parts of Google's business in China, home to more than 450 million Internet users, have been unraveling since last March.” This is a major problem for people in China as they are losing a valuable search provider all because the government wants to censor the internet of most things and because of this “the company's share of search market revenue in China dropped to 19.6% last quarter from 35.6% a year earlier.” Other countries that may want to censor the internet for its people may have to lose some internet services because Google doesn’t censor anything for anyone. This is a major violation of the people of China's right to search the internet for anything they want to know. Also because of this Google will most likely pull out of China causing them to lose money and causing people who have invested in Google to lose money. This kind of this has to negative effects on both people and the service provider.

Censoring of the internet has become a major topic all over the world as of late. With the current uprisings and revolutions happening across the world, the internet has played a huge role in this. Sites like Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, and even Google, have all been involved with the sharing of information across the globe. Censoring information on the internet, like Google, is just one way governments are trying to limit free speech and the sharing of ideas. It's absurd.
