Petraeus condemns Quran burning as protests rage

In Kabul Afghanistan, the top American military leader and Civilian delegate in Afghanistan Sunday intended the burning of the Quran in the United States, an action which generated days of complaint that left more than 20 dead. Gen. David Petraeus said Sunday that burning the Muslim holy book was very hateful and it was prejudiced and also it was very disrespectful. NATO Ambassador Mark Sedwill said the burning of a Quran by a little Florida church was an action of lack of respect to the Muslim faith and to all peoples of faith. It does not stand for the views of the peoples or governments of the alliance. There were a lot of protests because of this action. I think the Florida church shouldn’t have done this. It is very disrespectful to burn someone’s holy book. The comments also came as protests. This lead one person dead and about 16 injured. This was a protest against police and stone throwing protesters. Two police officers were killed in the protests. Ahmad said that he didn’t think the protest was for the Quran burning. Barack Obama condemned the action on Saturday. This kind of stuff shouldn’t happen. Everyone should live peacefully. If the church never burned the Holy book of Muslim people then these protests wouldn’t ever happen. This is a form of crime because many people got injured and some got killed. Burning the holy book of Muslims was a very hateful thing to do. People should stop crime and be peaceful.

I agree. It is one thing to voice one's opinion as an option of free speech. However, it is not necessary to burn another culture's holy book. Words go a lot farther in effectiveness than hateful actions. Burning their holy book only fueled the fired as apposed to working an agreement out peacefully.
