"Spanish police 'break UK drugs gang' in Ibiza"
The largest and most active gang of British drug traffickers on the island of Ibiza, have been disintegrated thanks to Spanish police and the United Kingdom's Serious Organized Crime Agency. According to the article, approximately 3,600 ecstasy pills, 69,000 euros, and cocaine were found during the investigation. As a result of these findings, thirteen people have been arrested; ten people from the United Kingdom anf two being from the Republic of Ireland. Along with these arrests, sixteen homes were searched by the Spanish Guardia Civil's central operational unit as part of the investigation. Within the search, drugs, scales, and other drug related equipment were discovered and seized.
The drugs were transported from the UK to the island of Ibiza during the summer season, in order to feed the hunger for drugs on the island. The drugs found in the search of the sixteen homes are speculated to be similar to the drugs responsible for the death of a young British woman, and eight people being poisoned on the island of Ibiza in July. Also, there is another speculated drug-related death of a young girl in Croydon London who suffered a heart attack after a night out.
This article should raise awareness to designer drugs, and safety when out, enjoying life. Along with raising awareness of drugs and surroundings, this article showed me that there is bad in every place of the world. This type of trafficking caused not only the dismantlement of homes, of those arrested and the families of the victims, but also caused the lives of innocent people. Many people view drugs as something fun to do, but as this article shows, using drugs, just one night, can cause either a world of trouble, or your world to end.
