Mexico has been the transit route for illegal drugs for plenty of generations. Now Mexico is a little more powerful and well financed when it comes to drug cartels. According to this article their government have reported more than 34,600 people have been killed since the four years President Felipe Caldron took office and through police and military cartels. Mexican and American military officials have teamed up and found out that many of these crime bosses have be killed or captured. Even still there is still plenty of drug trafficking taking place. America and Mexico have never worked closer than they are now. Working together to cut the crime rate and the amount of illegal drug trafficking has left them to prove that their strategy is working. Now that there are republicans in control of the house and the Obama administration will face a renewed scrutiny to account for the 1.4 billion multiyear Merida Initiative.
This Initiative is to cover the American Aid in Mexico’s drug fight. Both countries have decided to radically prepare to alter both nations’ police forces. The Mexican drug trafficking has caused violence on the boarder and lot of fighting zones. This has also led to Mexican drug wars. This becomes a social global problem, because it affects the US, Mexico, and many other nations across the world. Such drug trafficking can and has led to a lot of violence, wars, and other things. When Mexico exports in more than just one country it causes problems for other countries also. this means that rate of illegal drug trafficking increases as well as the amount of violence taking place.
