In Jos, Nigeria Muslims brutally murdered a Christian family of 8 on Sunday. This only continues a week long torture of violence that has the two religious groups against each other and the civilians around them. More than 40 people have been killed just this week in this battle between Christian and Muslim faiths. It started on Monday when Christian youths attacked some Muslims as they were celebrating the end of one of their holidays called Ramadan. Yiljap Abraham, a plateau state spokesman, took some journalists in a village named Tatu where 8 bodies lay from the attack. That Sundayin another village called Rioym, a bomb was planted in a marketplace. Luckily, the bomb didn't go off because the battery in the bomb had run flat. The plateau is straddled in between the two which is called the 'Middle Belt' Muslim faith in the north and Christianity in the south. On Saturday at least four by-standers were killed, one including a soldier when the chaos was going on between the youth.
The continent of Africa is no stranger to religious division. Because of the different religions that are practiced in Africa, this is expected to happen. The question is what can be done to stop violent acts of crimes against families that believe what they want to believe? Every person has the right to worship who or what they want to worship, so should they be brutalized, beaten, and possibly murdered for their beliefs? They shouldn't but not all countries believe in this. If a certain religion is not believed in, war is raged among the land. There may be to nothing to do about this scenario now, but if something can be done to separate the two religions maybe all of the violence and chaos can come to a slow end. Anything is better than seeing families being slain in cold blood for something they've been taught since birth and continue to practice and pass on to others for generations to come. Everyone person is entitled to believe in what they believe in, so why get murdered for it?
