Women achieve Noble Peace Prize

People all over the world want nothing but peace and democracy. So did three powerful women from Lemen and Liberia. Not often do we hear women's desires actually being taken in to place. It takes a big fight and actual factual information to get anything done. Women are the ones mostly to stand up for freedom. We can connect this with the socialization of gender roles. Three women just got noted for fighting for these rights as mentioned before. Just the week a female president, peace activist, and journalist got noticed for putting up this fight. They even got awarded the Noble Peace Prize for their hard work. This is a huge accomplishment considering there had only been 12 awarded in the past 110 years. It's wonderful for women's perspective to be included. They said it perfectly in the article; "We cannot achieve democracy and lasting peace in the world unless women obtain the same opportunities as men to influence developments at all levels of society." Every race, gender, and age should have input about what the world around them involves in. Hopefully with more rewards and less sanctions for women, they will be encouraged to step up more and fight for what they believe in.
