Blog Post 12: Battle Begins Early for Female Recruits in Afghan Army

Women in Afghan are increasingly becoming a part of the Afghan army. For women to be a part of the Army they have to gain consent from their families. A lot of women face many pressures that come along with joining the army including exclusion for some by their husbands while others see it as a way to help their country out. Many women feel like the increased number of women in the army can provide support for many and there are added benefits including a good wage and safety. One woman wants to improve Afghanistan women's perspectives of their own country by showing that there are a lot of improvements that are happening in the country. The article is overall telling the trials and tribulations that women face when joining the army.

This is a social problem because women everywhere are realizing their potential and that they can do anything they want. They are defying what was recently thought of as being a male dominate society. I feel like this shows the change that many countries have taken and that many countries are on the way to making this decision that includes supporting and increasing women in all areas of life. For change to happen, women need to continue the fight for equality in all areas of life. A lot of times, many countries have other factors in their lives that may cause the lowering of some people and classes which may be due to cultural differences. People need to support women by increasing awareness of women’s issues as well as having programs that support women and their empowerment.

I believe that it is great that women are able to join the army. I think that it is a way to show that women are equal to men, and that they can do many things that men can do. It shows that they do not have to just stay in the house and do domestic work. I also think that it is great that women are also getting paid well; they will be able to take care of themselves and won't have to stay in a relationship they don't want to stay in because they do not have enough resources. I think this a big step towards the fight for equality.

this article is especially important to me because i am a female and i deal with gender discrimination even in today's time everyday. People always think that i cant do certain things just because i am a female and a "weak". I am determined to prove everyone wrong and show the, how strong i can be and the women joining the army are doing just that. I hope that the family supports them in every way and the government continues to allow it.

I think it is great that women are deciding to take a part in the army. Even though most people think it is better for just men to go into the army that is not the case. Women can contribute too and it is good to know that other countries are finally starting to realize this.

It’s interesting I didn’t know that women had to be given consistent just to join the in the Afgan Army. They really restrict the rights of women by keeping them powerless. In a recent news article I read how women who are raped in Afghanistan and have children out of wedlock they can sometimes be killed. I was also unaware that women had to go through so much just to be accepted by their own people.

This article surprised me, being that in Afganistan it is a male dominated society and women have not been equal. It is a step in the right direction and I believe that women should be able to join the military if they choose to. As time goes by hopefully Afghan women will get more rights and have the same say in society as men do.

I commend the women that have the courage to join the army. I also commend those who are not discriminating against women wanting to do so. This is a huge step in the right direction for women's rights and gender equality. This puts more of a damper on gender based double standards.

I thought this article was excellent, It shows that it's possible for the gender roles in the Middle Eastern countries to become more equal.
