In the article, the main issue that is being brought up is will the US will get more involved in the Asia-Pacific region and according to Hillary Clinton, the answer is yes that the US will get more involved as it pulls out of Afghanistan and Iraq building trade ties, reinforcing alliances and continuing to press for democratic reforms in authoritarian nations like China and in Vietnam. During one of her most recent press conferences, Hilary spoke about the importance of us as the US and China to work together, instead of against each other. She feels that this will better ensure strong, sustained and balanced future global growth. Although she says that even though she wants unity between China and the US, she clearly points out that China has serious issues concerning their previous records on their human rights. She sees it as a problem that needs to be dealt with before the US joins teams with them. This is just Hiliary's potiental plans for the future, and no final rules/details have been made concerning this issue.
In my opinion, although it would be nice for China and the US to join forces, I think that will just cause more and more conflict and tension between nations. Although, I do think that it would be good and beneficial for China and the US to join forces on some smaller issues/projects, I wouldn't go as far as to say that we need to join and be an alliance. We are seperate nations for a reason here and I don't think it would be too smart to cross that invisible boundary line.

I agree that it would be helpful in some ways to join with China because they have become a very smart and self-relying country. But in many ways becoming alliances can become a problem because there are many things the U.S and China do not do the same and since we already have a war going on we don't need to make any chances at another one.
