Blog #1 Drug wars in Mecixo and Latin America

Here in the United States often drug cartels go under the radar since politics and celebrities are all over the press but right now as the republicans are trying to figure things out, a war in Mexico is taking over the news.  The crime in Mexico is all over the place including drugs, kidnapping, and illegal immigration.  As the drugs war in Mexico continue to rage on, the big cities in Mexico and Latin America at one deemed safe are not showing up with dead and headless bodies in their cities.  Mexico and Latin American have always had their fair share of trouble with crime, and drug wars.  The police forces in these counties have always been suspect to the crime and wars to these regions.  Citizens can’t fully trust their own police force.  Not only does crime like this take place in Mexico and Latin America but its goes on in Columbia, eastern European countries and some Africans countries facing drug cartels, and crime alike. 
As I read through this New York Times article, it really opened my eyes to what was really going on in Mexico and Latin America.  I thought it was just a drug war that two groups were fighting over but it wasn’t.  Last Week two headless bodies were found in a smoldering minivan outside a mall in one of Mexico’s biggest cities.   In two cities in Latin America twenty-six bodies were found and in another city an entire police force was dismissed because the state determined the police force were too corrupt and then thirty-five bodies were dumped on the road following.  The reasoning for all this madness is said to believe a turf battle between two drug criminals.
