Blog #2: Red Crescent official, priest killed in Syria

Recently in the midst of anti-regime rebellions in Syria a Red Crescent official and a priest were shot and killed. Officials at the scene stated that the Red Crescent man named Abdulrazak Jabero Hisham was in a vehicle clearly marked, and shouldn’t have been shot at at all. The Red Crescent group is in association with the Red Cross and was there to aid others that were wounded during this rebellion. The priest was also aiding a wounded man when we was shot and killed. On January 25th alone twenty four people were killed. This is all  happening due to the anti-regime militia actions, possibly carried out by terrorists, which has been going on for about 10 months now in places like Bab Qebli and Hama, a place that has had other previous problems with mass quantities of deaths and rebellions at one time.
This alarms me, especially since places like Hama have had occurrences like these before. How can it be that innocent civilians, only in Syria on a mission to help heal and aid the wounded could be shot and killed without hesitation? Why, if these groups are against the regime, are they targeting aid? It could be that they see any supporters of assistance to the end of the rebellion are the enemy, but it seems that all they are doing is setting up more enemies and investigations against themselves. Another thing that disturbs me is the fact that the article mentions that the Syrian government restricts the access of internal media to international media sources. That makes it seem as if they are hiding something, which just makes the situation all the more unsettling.
