The Republicans' Mitt Romney Problem

After a turn of events and a Rick Santorum victory in the Iowa caucuses many were left with thoughts of Mitt Romney. A Pew research poll helped to allocate the “would-be voters” into separate categories to help determine how the voters are voting. The Republican candidate is having troubles with even trying to convince some of his own party into his favor. The older n generations who have normally taken an extremely conservative position on nearly all issues have often times referred to him as “Republican in name only” (RINO) because of his supposed liberal record. Romney also has an additional problem that may render him from his hopes of presidency; he is a Mormon. There is a tendency among the American people that seems to show that they are afraid of things that they may not understand. The Mormon religion is often misunderstood and is associated unfairly with negative things and ideas that our society does not deem “normal.” Unfortunately for him, this will surely change his numbers among certain groups of voters.
I thought that Burnett did a great job with this article. The article was very informative and broke down the problems that republican Mitt Romney has had and will continue to have. The article pointed out many things that will continue to help Romney in the upcoming election but it offer pointed out many things that will continue to hinder him. I really like that the article at least pointed out Romney’s past as a business man. With Romney’s business background it makes since that he would take steps that point towards conservative views as well as capitalism to further appeal to his republican primary crowd.
