Blog #5: Rx for iPads: More healthcare IT support needed

There are a lot of advance technologies in different countries and this article is one of the high tech ideas to help improve on correct issues in health.  In Ottawa Hospital in Ontario, Canada, the doctors use an Apple’s iPad to keep up important information about the patient and the clinical. However, the doctors and the rest of the staff says there were no support from the healthcare IT.  The doctors want upgrade software to keep track of the patients’ information.  Gregg Malkary, a founder of Spyglass Consulting Group, says in an interview the iPad is not yet ready “transform” patient healthcare deliver.”  The reason is the tools they need for the iPad like the enterprise healthcare applications.  Also, he says the healthcare IT needs to keep up and transform the patients’ information from the desktop to the iPad.  The hospital was working on a way build a software in the iPad where is close to the bedside with the patient and it work successfully.
It is good to have update technology in a firm, but you must have the support, the right software, and have enough time with item.  The healthcare IT should support more in the idea of the iPad.  They should be aware of what type of goods that the firm is working on.  IT needs to know the correct software for the hospital.  The doctors must have the right equipment for the patient.  The very important strategy is having enough time to practice with the iPad.   IT has to test the tablet so the doctors use this on their patients.  I agree with Gregg Malkary in the interview about the iPad.  I glad the hospital’s CIO, Dale Potter say the tablet is finally working and the doctors will help their patient properly.
