Blog #4: Number of Chinese Students in US Schools Doubles in 2 Years

One can walk around UNCG’s campus and see that our school population is very diverse. There has been a study displaying that more Chinese are coming to America for their education. As we all know China is growing to be a country to compete with, technology and now their people are coming to America to earn an education and bring it back to their homeland creating their country to be well educated. They take education so seriously then spend thousands of dollars on consultant to come help them fill out college applications. I assume China’s economy is blooming because their middle class is able to send their children overseas to go to school. If more and more Chinese students come to America to get an education eventually they will be more educated than us and our children may want to go there and study abroad.
Not only is this benefiting China it is also benefiting us. These students are paying tuition to go to college which in turn helps American’s economy. Bringing diversity to colleges helps students to have access to all different types of backgrounds. One of the problems in today’s society is people are close minded are not willing to open their minds to new things. If we open ourselves more it will create a more unified world, hopefully eliminating country conflicts. So really this is a win-win situation. China is receiving a great education; America is receiving revenue benefits as well as learning about other cultures. Chinese students should be encourage to attend our school and welcomed with open arms.
