NYPD: Muslim offense

Recently there has been a lot of talk about the NYPD’s tactics. The police department recently presented a film titled “The Third Jihad” to about 1500 officers. The film apparently communicated that Islam’s true purpose was to “infiltrate and dominate America.” Congressman Ellison has communicated that he thinks this is an awful step for anti terrorism and national security.
Ellison argues that the films as well as other anti-Muslim tactics communicate that Muslim’s are the enemy, and not an ally. Some NYPD officers also realized this and have objected to the showing of the film and FBI objected to using this material as well. The film was produced by the Clarion fund. This group lacks national backing along with national security credentials but is not short on money. This organization has realized warnings that the Bush administration dismissed as extreme statements.
Ellison continues by pointing out that it is more important than ever to build positive relationships with the people of the Islam faith. By working together we can more effectively fight terrorism. The thought is why subject a prejudice that has been in America since it first came together? We are afraid of the group that we have put the Muslims in. The same can be seen by The Shooter bias study where it was perceived, by race, that a man would be more dangerous than another.
