Blog 11: Suicide bomber kills three in Karachi

According to Pakistani officials, a suicide bomber killed at least three people. This explosion took place on Thursday in Karachi. A Senior Police Official said   he was the target of the bombing. He was moving his squad when the bombing took place. He was not injured by the explosion but some of his men were injured due to it.  Three people were killed and thirteen others were injured. Also an armored police vehicle and vendors’ stalls were damaged due to the bombing. There was up to four kilograms of explosives used in the bombing device.  The bomber is suspected to be among the dead. Everyone who died were men and two of the wounded were teenagers.  Karachi is a city that is plagued with ethnic, sectarian and political violence.  This attack was believed to detour the mission of keeping the people safe. This is not the first attack. It is estimated that 300 people have been killed this year in Karachi because of their problems.
The suicide bombing and other killings that have taken place in Karachi are issues of global crime and violence. These killings should not be tolerated. Innocent people are dying because of the ethnic, sectarian, and politically linked violence in Karachi, Pakistan. Karachi is not the only city that suffers from these crimes against humanity. Unfortunately, suicide bombings and other crimes are committed in many different cities throughout many different countries. The Tamil Tigers are an example of a group that also resorted to these crime/terrorism tactics.  The ethnic, sectarian, and political problems can cause people to go to extremes and resort to extreme tactics and Karachi is a strong example of this.
