Blog #11: United States arrest Russian Man

A Russian named Viktor Bout was sentenced to 25 years on four counts of conspiracy to kill Americans, acquire and export anti-aircraft missiles and provide material support to a terrorist organization.  The man denies the charges and still calms he is innocent to the four counts.  The United States arrested him in Thailand and then brought him over to the United States for his Trial in front of a Federal Judge in New York.  Foreign ministry of Russia accused the United States of acting illegally in the arresting of Viktor Bout in Thailand.  Russia said the United States was “creating intolerable conditions of detention, physical and psychological impact."  Russia also went into saying that the US encouraged the media campaign against Bout which is bound to influence the jury.  Bout says that he never intended to sell any arms, but that the DEA agents baited his clients into illegal activities.

Russia and the United States go back a long way back and have been through a lot.  If someone has any suspension of something of this magnitude it’s hard for one to be innocent.  What else could this person possibly be doing to make it look like acts of terrorism?  Terrorism is a huge crime and it goes on everywhere.  Sir lanaka just ended their war on terrorism and the United States was hit with terrorism and Africa has its problems with it also.  Acts of terrorism are just sad and pathetic.  There is no need for that and it’s a huge social problem in the world.  Everyone hears about it and most of the times its acts of hate and discrimination.
