New 'Sars-like' coronavirus identified by UK officials

49 year old man has been air lifted to a London hospital with
SARS (Sever acute respiratory symptom) like symptoms. This is one of two cases known with the same
viral symptoms. Officials are still not
sure about the threats this new virus may have.
Because of the severity of the case, steps have been taken to make sure
that people that have been in contact with this particular case have been
checked and have not been infected.
There is no evidence of the virus spreading form person to person and
because of that there is no specific advice for the public regarding precautionary
measures. The SARS virus effected many
people including hospital staff. This
class of Coronavirus’s is a huge family of viruses including ones that cause
common colds. This new virus is not having the same effect
on people, most people to agree that this virus is not a Coronavirus. There has also been other cases all treated
in the UK with people suffering from serious respiratory problems all of which
have recently died. There has been no
evidence to suggest that their deaths were caused by the same virus, or is even
linked to the current case.
It’s kind of scary to think that the
SARS virus in a different form may be coming back. Although, this virus has different symptoms
than the actual SARS virus, I still believe that we should still be
careful. I believe that doctors and official
should still continue to take the same precautionary measures as they would if
this was another SARS or coronavirus break out.
I feel like as soon as we don’t pay attention to the virus and don’t set
these safety measures to protect others from possibly getting the virus
something may happen. Other cases somewhat similar have resulted in death, even
though there is not much evidence to link the two together. The fact
that they have even been considered somewhat the same is enough for me to
believe that we should still be careful about the effects this new virus may
have on people.
