Putting An End To Terrorism And It’s Effects

It seems like as the days pass more and more people in the middle east are being terrorized an killed because of terrorist insurgent groups.  Recently in Kabul, Afghanistan at least 20 people were killed on Thursday, November 08, 2012, by insurgent attacks. A spokesperson for the governor of Helman Province, Abdul Zirak, describes the most vicious attack as devastating, “The worst attack was the explosion of a roadside bomb as a pickup truck packed with civilians passed by, killing 10 people, including five women and a child.” The attack took place in a former Taliban stronghold, the Qala district in Helmand. The United States Marines never completely brought this area under control because of their withdrawal. When the U.S. Marines withdrew they left the Afghanistan troops in charge of the area.  And even thought the U.S. attacks brought the violence level down, suicide attacks still remained a huge threat for the people within the city of Kandahar.

I found this article very interesting. It seems like the “growing trend” over in the Middle East is the grand disposition of terrorism. Another lesson learned today is to completely put an end to terrorist wherever they may be. I believe the United States Marines did a great job of bringing down the violence. With the understanding that they (U.S. Marines) would eventually leave, I believe that the Afghanistan troops should have continued the job in the same fashion or escalated the job until it completely deterred these terrorist from doing anything. The relationship of the attack and location is too much of a coincidence for it not to be intricately related.
