Crime

Crime is one of the many issue we face here in the United States and also all around the world and the crime rate continues to increase world wide. Crimes including: global homicide and genocide trials, drug and women trafficking for sex, robberies, sexual abuse and assault, and corporate crimes are all effecting indivduals scocially. I decided to choose crime for my current event to study throughout the semester because crime is starting to have an effect on my life more than before. I have been at UNCG going on four years now and I have never received as many UNCG police crime alerts as I did last year about armed robberies occuring. I have to be very caution and aware of my surrounding 24/7 now. I have always been alert of what's going on, now just more than before. I even find myself looking back several times when unlocking my house or car door because you never know when someone is planning to run up on you and take what I have. Some people in this world are losing it but yet and still crime is not completley out of hand but it is not under control. Recently, their was a massacre at a elementary school in Newton, Connecticut. A gunman killed his mom and 26 others in the school, and twenty were children, young innocent children. I try to keep up with all the crime going on in America; I like to be aware of issues happening now. But I want to broaden knowledge and learn about the crime occurring globally and how it is affecting people socially in negative ways.
