European scientists have started the process for a revolutionary idea in the world of robotics, having all the information and programming for certain things being stored on the internet and letting the robots themselves access it to learn the stuff themselves. A sort of centralized robotic brain. This could be useful for many machines, an example given in the article is self-driving cars. With the centralized database cars would be better able individually to work and potentially become cheaper because of it not having to have immense processing power as would be required without a centralized hub.
This would be a social issue as machines are the future of life, and any bit that we can make to make the creation and operations of machines simpler is a benefit in most all uses. As with machines we can better produce manufactured goods, reducing the price and helping eliminate lower wage jobs as machines will be come more accessible. With this technology there will of course also be more thans than initially percieved, though those will come in time.
