Blog 8: Africa's First Ladies Promote Women and Child Health

In this article by Lee she states how Africa is coming together to help their country with many health problems that exist.  The main problem that occurs in Africa is poverty which is the result of unhealthy people as well as many dying from lack of resources. Children deaths are still at its highest when it comes to ranking them to other countries. The risk of children outliving their parents is slim due to the lack of resources. The first lady of Guinea, Djené Kaba Condé, “says she is in the United States to seek help because children in Guinea die prematurely, due to a lack of incubators for babies.” This is an example of many problems that occurs in Africa due to the lack of funding in health services. Many people do not have the access to health care or education due to the lack of programs and services. The ladies of Africa are standing up and trying to flip the health services around to help their citizen’s survive and to become healthy.
This article brings the light on how Africa is one of many who struggles with health problems. We as a nation could help support Africa or bring in resources to help with the overall issue of child death rates and education. Child death rates are one of many issues that have an everlasting effect on this country.  Our society should be grateful on the many resources that we have.  Africa is finally trying to stand up and protect their citizens from the overall impact of public health.
