Exclusive: How my brother tried to kill me in 'honor attack'

Analysis:

This story is about a young Afghanistan woman named Gul Meena who was married at a young age to a man that was old enough to be her grandfather at age 12. Every since then this young Afghanistan women was on a continuum of abuse most of her life. She was not allowed to go to school she was  a slave to her husband , a slave the was subjected to daily beatings. When she came forward to tell her family about the abuse the quoted “You belong in your husband’s house that is your life”. Afghanistan is a Muslim country so females have less rights and authority in that country, they must abide by the husband laws. After five years of abuse, Gul Meena met a young man and left her husband, she moved to another city. She was committed the ultimate crime in Islamic customs, running away from her husband. Her older brother tracked them down, armed with an ax; he hacked to death Gul Meena's friend, and then struck his own sister cutting open her face, head and parts of her body. There are crimes like this that take place often in Afghanistan. Generally some customs in other countries make people believe that their acts of crimes are just because of their belief of religion that they are moral right in their acts. Gul Meena survive the tragic attack that was delivered from her brother, but she still have scares and trauma to her head that have lifelong side effects.
