11 year old boy shot

An 11 year old boy was shot to death yesterday in the Croxteth area of Liverpool. The mother of the victim said that he was walking home from football practice and just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. An eyewitness to the crime told police that the boy was walking in the parking lot of a pub with two other boys. Another teenager (approximately aged 14 or 15), wearing a hoodie, on a BMX bicycle fired three shots at the boy but only hitting him once in the neck. The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunatly passed awasy due to his injuries.
Police have made many public remarks about this incident. "Someone out there knows who put the gun in his hand and I want your help... to turn that gunman in tonight". It amazes me that a 14 or 15 year old boy would first of all, know where to get a gun, and second of all, know how to use it. There is now talk about teenage gang activity which is another topic to discuss. Everyday teens all around the world are shot, harrassed, or beat on for a multitude of reasons. Knowing that it is other teens that are doing these terrible acts should raise awareness. School systems should take some responsibility and make programs (anti-gang programs) or have teens more involved in sports, dance, drama, etc. If we don't start to take action, this could happen to our children someday!
